I attended Ed's class this morning....Good Stuff.
Having left the NYPD a few years ago, I've been lucky enough to get to go to other similar
theme training like the Caliber Press seminar, and the Reid Street Crimes Program.
Both of these professional, slicked up seminars are a few days and a few hundred bucks each.
Ed's class is on par with these 'big league' seminars. Yes, it's condensed into a few hours,
and the setting is informal, but it's not your usual mind-numbing, read from a text book,
department issued bs training. Like I said, good stuff.
Thanks Ed.

Dear Edward
THANK YOU FOR A GREAT SEMINAR! I LEARNED A LOT OF NEW THINGS.
I would like to come back for a refresher course some time in the future.
Please keep up to date with anything new product or invention that you have.
Thanks again.

Dear Ed
THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR GREAT ADVISE, I APPRECIATE IT!
I was just speaking to a cop who got hurt on the job
and now needs surgery for his back. I feel strongly that cops need to use
good tactics to stay safe. That's why I want to spend more time learning
the job. Brooklyn North is a very dangerous and violent place. I need more
training but I am confused about how to get it. I don't know where to
go and who to ask? I have tried to speak to some of the senior cops but
they just tell me I need more "T on the J". I have seen Police DVD but I
don't know how useful they are. What do you think?
I am sorry to bother you all the time but, you are clearly the BEST COP I EVER MET!
You are very knowledgeable about police work and tactics.

I can not believe it. Totally awesome ed. I learned more here than 15 years in the nypd.
Ed you should be working for dhs, or some anti-terrorist unit. Keep up the great work.

Dear Mr. Polstein
Your testing our of our security was a real eye opener. Never in my years in the NYPD and in the security field have I seen anything like this.
I would most definitely like to send my security personal to your course.
05-13-06
I took the class, and the academy doesn't cover any of it. I can't say enough good things about your course, it boggles my mind how the nypd doesn't touch on any of this in 6 months.
I wouldn't have recognized a quarter of what Ed had if I had just run into it on the street.
The best part of the course is the hands on aspect, once you get to play with these items
you really learn what to look for.
It's definitely worth the time and a steal for the money.

The course was great. I was skeptical when you said that you'd have no problem getting into a secure facility with deadly weapons (including handguns), without any kind of official ID, but you definitely backed that up. Same goes for carrying a deadly, full sized, 6+ inch fixed blade right onto any commercial aircraft, virtually at will.
I'm going to try to suggest that GSA make your class mandatory for the private security people who work the screening equipment at federal facilities to identify the combinations of regular items that they'd never bother even taking a look at without your training. Frankly, any agent who ever serves a warrant or goes out as part of an arrest team would also be a lot safer after your class. For you guys on patrol, just being able to identify that one mystery item posted on the Rant is more than worth what Ed (under)charges for the course, because that single piece of knowledge could easily save a few MOS lives on a "routine" call someday. Thanks again, Ed.

I was a skeptic before I came to your class. You rule. Why you’re not working for Homeland Security or Department of Defense is beyond me.

We had an assault case where a student was repeatedly stomped on.
He received orbital fractures to his eye and other injuries.
Our detectives said this was an Assault 3 (misdemeanor)
With great patience I explained how this was an Assault 2 and mentioned ''case law''.
The case law was from your explanation how you had a similar case and invoiced the boots as evidence. They charged him with the felony.
Thanks Ed
